Tallula and the Allure of Film

34

The beautiful Tallula prepares a shopping list from a magazines recipe.

This was shot on a Canonet QL17 and Fuji ProPlus 100 film.

I've tried all the film emulation software and plug-ins and tricks. Nothing digital looks like film. How could it?

I got a turntable the other day, after putting it off for ages, and have been obsessed with the beautiful warmth and soul, the imperfections in the medium and the subtleties I've never heard before in a song I've listened to hundreds of times before.

As an artist, it pains me to produce anything without soul and character. I feel that that all important 'voice' people are always saying you need to find and nurture is being stifled by trying to create something with crippled tools. I feel like taking the terrifying plunge and saying: "No More, Enough. This is who I am."

Could this be the end of digital capture for me?
