Snapperific: Cyanotype - Greg
This is a contact print cyanotype. So very beautiful and delicate and small.
This photograph was taken on a walk around Johannesburg city with my friend Greg (you can see the photograph from a scan here).
This process, cyanotype, is slow and lovely. Best of all, the rich Prussian Blue of the print is absolutely gorgeous - the exact colour I would have chosen if given the choice, I do love blue...
This was shot on a Ricohflex VII, on Ilford FP4 Plus.
The print is on Cotton Archival Paper. The exposure time took 2 hours and 20 minutes on an overcast day. On a bright, sunny day the exposure time is much shorter.
Think I might offer these as a high-end option to my portrait subjects...
