First roll through a camera I know I'm going to love more and more...
The camera in question is the Canon EOS 1, the original. It is a glorious camera. Refined yet elegant. I like it almost as much as Betty, my EOS 1nRS, which you'll have to pry outta my cold, dead hands.
I have not yet named the 1 as I'm probably going to sell it to a friend and don't want to get too attached.
It's unbelievable what great cameras you can buy for a fraction of what they cost new, back in ye ol' dayes of film. Shooting them is a joy.
This image is a quick conversion into black and white, very little fiddling. Just gorgeous. Blows me away how great film looks. When you get it right.
I shot an editorial shoot last week and used film and digital. The final images were composed of 70% film. There was no contest. Though the subject matter was very demanding with a huge dynamic range. I'll write more about it once the article has gone to print.
