Coming home after a strange and difficult few months, you really get to understand what you valued and what you undervalued.
Seasons change. I left spring and landed in autumn. Change is something all around us. Sometimes it just takes a jolt for us to see it.
Sometimes, it's the place you are in that shapes your thoughts. I'm home now. I feel at home and my thoughts are balanced. I live in a city with many problems and many beauties. I have to accept that imperfection is a part of life, especially in a big, turbulent city.
With all this change and movement, it hits you how some constants are vital in the very sense of the word. The picture above is of my girlfriend in a coffeeshop. We'd just gotten home. We both felt relief and ease for the first time in ages. We can feel it in each other's eyes. We are each other's constant. It means more than can be put into words. I think I got a glimpse of it in this photograph. It's a keeper.
