This couple was waiting for the train. So was I.
It was my first time at the station but they have caught this train for a good part of their lives. since I've been in the country a grand total of 3 months, most stations I go to are for the first time.
This was a particularly cute little station, more quaint that most in London. I said so to the couple while we were chatting. They decried the sorry state of the place. Sure there was graffiti, this is London. But there was also an unusual peace and tranquility - something that is certainly not the norm at a London station where people are generally walking all over each other to get their place on an overcrowded tube-car of escalator.
It was a lovely moment. I asked the couple if they'd mind if I took their portrait. They didn't and I took a photo. I asked them if they had email so that I could send them a copy. They said they didn't 'have that stuff'. I was sad as it was a lovely portrait and I wanted them to have it.
Before I could ask about their postal address, the train arrived and we parted and I never did and they'll never see the portrait. Maybe I'll post that portrait up one day. Maybe they'll see it, somehow. but probably not...
